Michael Dann Tuition was formed in February 1988 and in that time Michael has taught 100’s of pupils ranging in age from 6 – 90. Michael teaches both keyboard and organ with ½ hour lessons in customer’s home on a weekly or fortnightly basis. (In some cases customers have either ¾ hour or 1 hour long lessons – perhaps when two children in one family are leaning or a parent and a child – each lesson is given individually, no group tuition.)
Having lessons in your own home on your own instrument allows you to learn how to ‘use’ your own instrument whereas having lessons at a studio means in most cases you use an unfamiliar instrument and have to go home and try to re-create the sounds on your own instrument with no help! Also you have to drive nowhere and pay no parking charges.
Michael also teaches keyboards in primary schools in his local area and has in the past also taught in the private sector so has good experience when it comes to teaching children.
Michael’s philosophy when it comes to teaching is for it should be fun at whatever age you learn – the teaching course that he uses can be adapted to your needs and once the basics have been learnt he can help you play the style of music you wish to play, currently he has customers playing pieces from top ten artists to favourite classical pieces and lots of other different styles and genres in between!
